DANNAH

Trainer

Like many Monster clients, Dannah was struggling with a recently-adopted reactive pit bull mix when she started training with Sarah and Molly. They taught her so much about relationship building, the necessity of biological fulfillment as part of any training program, and the concept of living well with our dogs. Dannah has been a very active foster with Bounce Animal Rescue in Fort Collins since 2021, and she has a special passion for helping new (or seasoned!) adopters welcome a new dog into their home. Working in rescue has allowed her to interact and live with all kinds of dogs and has underlined the importance of setting a dog up for success in the home and in life. Her main interests are: Canine Fitness as part of a lifelong healthy lifestyle; tips and tricks for fulfilling your dog when you also have kids, a job, and would like to have a social life of your own; living with and loving reactive dogs (especially any dog that would be labeled a pit bull); and teaching dogs how to love flirt poles, weight pull, and a spring pole! When she’s not working with other people’s dogs she’s spending time with her three dogs (all Bounce babies!), eight chickens, and two kids.

STEF

Assistant Trainer

Stef spent the first 10 years of her career teaching elementary special education, where she developed a strong foundation in the science of behavior and individualized intervention. After discovering she could pair those skills with her love of dogs, she began applying her experience to dog rescue and training. As a volunteer with Big Bones Canine Rescue, Stef has fostered and trained more than 50 dogs, with a particular love for bully breeds and the giant-headed goofballs that come with them. Her first dog, a fearful pittie mama, sparked a special interest in helping fearful dogs build confidence. More recently, life with her new Pit Bull Terrier, Basil, has given her a passion for working with reactivity. Stef especially enjoys adapting training to the individual dog and handler through accommodations and individualized instruction. She loves finding creative ways to make training successful for all levels.

Stef has completed the KPA Dog Trainer Preparatory course and continues to expand her education through animal behavior and zoology coursework. She is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and working with her own dog on Nose Work and public access skills. When she's not at Monster, she is traveling, climbing and biking with her husband and her pup.
